A Unique Boston ICA Wedding Journey

A Unique Boston ICA Wedding Journey

On June 9, 2018, Nathalee Kong and Christopher Tsai celebrated their wedding at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. The event took place on the museum’s waterfront terrace, where a ship made an appearance to light up the sky, earning the title of “the best wedding crasher” from Kong.

Their love for travel shaped various elements of the wedding, from the safari proposal in Kenya to the photo shoot at the Envoy Hotel. Kong wore a simple beaded dress from BHLDN, a perfect fit for the coastal ambiance, while the reception extended into the ICA’s galleries, allowing guests to enjoy contemporary art.

The rental fee for the ICA ranges from $8,000 to $26,000, and couples are required to use its exclusive caterer, The Catered Affair, which starts at $150 per guest. This leads to a total budget of $60,000 to $120,000, which contrasts with the usual Boston banquet hall or hotel ballroom that would cost $20,000 to $40,000 for a similar number of guests, with catering prices ranging between $135 and $200 for lunch and $235 to $325 for dinner.
